Try Dives -
It's so easy to try scuba diving (known as a try dive) with BSAC.
We offer try-dive sessions for first-timers on request at our regular pool meetings.
A typical Try Dive session involves poolside tuition on diving techniques and equipment, followed by a scuba dive in the local pool with BSAC-qualified instructors to make sure you get maximum enjoyment from your first scuba dive.
A Try-Dive can help you save time and money by finding out in advance if you like diving.
From beginner to experienced, BSAC provides a full training programme that enables divers to progress through a framework of qualifications at their own pace.
There are five internationally-recognised BSAC diver grades, from the entry
level Ocean Diver through to our highest grade, First Class Diver.
BSAC Diver Grades
BSAC has been training people to dive since the early 1950s. During this time the Diver Training Programme has been regularly updated and improved to keep pace with developments in equipment and diving knowledge. The programme is designed to build confidence and self-reliance, whilst keeping safety uppermost.
Diving skills are taught progressively so that each new experience is built upon step by step. Following basic training in the safety of a swimming pool or protected area, students soon complete their first open water dives to achieve Ocean Diver certification. This progression continues to Sports Diver and beyond, where open water skills and techniques are further developed and experience gained.
All diver training courses are delivered through Rotherham 41 BSAC club, are by qualified instructors over a series of weekly evening sessions and weekend open water training, with the opportunity for regular diving to hone your skills.
With BSAC, the choice is yours – this is YOUR diving journey and we are with
you every step of the way.
You will learn to dive on this entry level course. Max depth 20m.
